Ingredients
1/2c. soy sauce
1/2 c. hoisin sauce
3 Tbs. ketchup
3 Tbs. rice vinegar
1/4 c. honey
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 1/2 Tbs. minced fresh ginger
2 tsp. sesame oil
4 lbs beef or pork roast
Big soft hoagie style buns
Add everything but the meat and buns to the slow cooker and whisk together. Add the roast and coat with mixture by flipping the roast several times. Add one cup water and cook on low for 8 hours. When meat is done, remove it from slow cooker and slice into think pieces or shred if you’d like. Add a tbs or two of sugar to the bbq broth then ladle into a serving dish. Place sliced (or shredded) meat into sauce to sit and soak before serving. Serve on nice, soft hoagie buns. This recipe is divine with the apple slaw on top of the meat or on the side. See Apple Slaw recipe. I got this recipe from Family Fun magazine but altered it and gave it my own flair.
